Numerous organizations claim to be experts: they produce and disseminate specialized discourses that are meant to inform our policy decisions. Citizens and decision makers are flooded by the often conflicting testimonies of these organizations. How can the layperson navigate in this ocean of discourse? Are all these organizations equally reliable? The Canada Research Chair in Applied Epistemology aims at a better understanding and a more principled evaluation of the epistemic characteristics of these organizations.
