Bio

François Claveau

I am a philosopher of the social sciences with a multidisciplinary background (philosophy, political science, economics, STS [Science and Technology Studies]). What drives my research is my fascination for social scientific discourses, primarily economic discourses, in the public sphere.

I want to supply us, as researchers, citizens and decision makers, with ways to better produce, criticize and integrate these discourses. To reach this goal, I combine techniques standard in philosophy such as conceptual analysis with empirical methods more directly associated with the social sciences.
