Tristan Rivard

Biography

Tristan has obtained his M. A. in applied political studies at the University of Sherbrooke and is now pursuing a Ph. D. in philosophy. During his studies, he has developed a profound interest for issues related to sociotechnical transformations, geopolitics as well as civilizational history.

His Ph. D. thesis concerns technical imaginaries, specifically the representations of artificial intelligence in discursive productions in popular culture as well as Western thought and myth. Through this question, artificial intelligence is studied in an interdisciplinary perspective including philosophy of technology, sociology and cultural anthropology.
